Should be heading out in couple houes. Went and checked cams this morning but they didn't show much. Been trying to figure out where to put up new stand too but haven't had much luck yet figuring that out. Will be sitting over cut corn field so should at least see something.
Been set up for bout half hour. So far nadda but it cooled down alot and should be good night. We'll see. Back looking at corn field that got cut earlier in week. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
Had 3 doe coming in until bigger of three got spooked by something. Don't if wind swirled or what but they turned and went back way they came. Still early and they didn't bolt tho. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
vanfossen - Bowhunting.com Forums(2307467) on Vimeo Had a great first sit of the season yesterday evening. Passed on a small doe at 15 who bedded down behind me and two more does bedded down 50 yards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Haven't seen anything, temp dropped but wind is going pretty good. Found 6 rubs all within 20 ft but have not seen any movement. Oh well, going to give another 30 then head to house and make deer chili and college football.
Looks like you guys have been enjoying your times in the stands. It's making me wish I had a later tag. Temps are dropping out here. -
Out for the evening sitting next to bean field. Nothing so far, jumped something coming in so that sucked ha. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
Just had doe come in but before got clear shot, she stopped and circled around. Think she caught my movement from turning to get ready for shot. Didn't bolt tho Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
Well I'm not hunting I took the wife out of town this weekend. Gotta keep her happy cause the next few weeks I plan to give it hell.
just got home from our cabin. I didnt hunt as we had a few things to fix on our cabin but next weekend my dad and I are going to really start hunting hard. I did have time to check 1 camera and got this guy on it. Definately got the blood flowing
Well came up with nothing tonight but had a good night in the woods. Ended up seeing about 7 deer I think, one may have been same twice. As I was getting down and making it back to edge of draw was sitting in had a buck feeding out in beans. By the time I crept up to edge of field it was just dark enough couldn't make out his rack very well and forgot binos in truck. Looked to be a 6 or 8 pointer. But really don't know, had decent body size. He was about 55 yards at closest so idk if woulda taken the shot even if it was little lighter out. Either way was nice night in the stand. Probably be back out tomorrow.
Headed to the stand here in a little bit. Waiting clothes to dry. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
I'm glad i dont get motion sickness. Being in this tree stand is like riding a Rollercoaster. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
A little under dressed for this evening. Wind has a little bite to it. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
Arrrggghhh.... Well saw a little 6 point, and two does, all hot that same entry/exit point again. They are not running the same routes I've seen from the last few seasons. I think the beans are still allowing them to feel secure in the middle of the field. So, tomorrow morning I'm taking my stool and sitting about 20 yards from that spot, hopefully, I can tag one early. I also took a walk and have pretty much found the rub line, I can only go so far due to property lines, and I have no clue how to really read a rub line. Any input?
