I missed a fork horn at 30 yards earlier tonight. He was the only deer we saw, and we hiked for 5 miles today. I've got the side by side loaded up and we'll hit it in the morning

Hey fellas figured I'd check in. My name is Jeremy and I hunt about 450-500 acres in Adams county IL. Only Checked cams once so far so don't have much to show yet but we've got some decent deer running the area. Last year buddy got a 170" 14 pointer. Good luck and look forward to the season.

Checking in. I am extremely behind on my deer scouting and preparation and I head to Connecticut for my brother's wedding tomorrow (8/16). So scratch another week off.
Other than that, I am super pumped, I did walk the bean field and watched three 8's from 60 yards. The season opens 24 September.

The only thing we might have killed today was the side by side.

Heres my better ones so far. The last picture is the one I'm hoping is still alive. My next camera check is probably first weekend of September. Then I like to stay out of the woods until season opener.

This is from last year on a old Busnell camera that I don't use anymore. The date and time kept resetting.

I have about 3 weeks left of the season, including 9 days of vacation starting next Sunday. Hopefully we get it done tonight

Saw nothing on public land, but a monster 5x5 on private, which he said no. But he gave me a couple of numbers of ranchers in the area. So I'll make some calls in the morning.

Well snap, I'll be right in your area, my father lives on Center Groton Rd, Ledyard. I grew up in Franklin and graduated from Norwich Tech in 2001, I went to the Army right after high school and never came back. I do not miss it, besides the food. We rented a house in Mystic to stay for the week, my brother's wedding is somewhere in Waterford, I think Harkness or something like that.
