Back to work tomorrow. I enjoyed a nice quiet day at the house. I have one other spot to try, possibly Saturday morning. It's been a tough season, gents.

Don't beat yourself up. We all have tough seasons. I've been fortunate the last few seasons which makes me nervous about this year. I'm due for a rough season.

I'm not really beating myself up. This unit was my last choice for a reason. Hot and a LOT of private lands blocking access to most of the hunting. I'll probably put early doe tags in instead next year.

On a positive note, my scope adapter should be here tomorrow, and once again, the job I really want posted again.

Wow. It's weird to me to think that your season will be all over before mine even starts. What do you hunt the rest of the year?

Nothing else really. Antelope season is usually the month of August, along with early bow, and if I'm not mistaken, elk is around three weeks at the beginning of September. I don't have a shotgun for any birds or upland game.

Gotcha. Your style of hunting is very unique to what I'm used to. That's one great thing about this site is that it brings highlights the regional differences between hunters.

I was actually just going through some old thread posts and realized we were on the same team in 2013 so maybe I should know your NV deal already lol.

I just pulled the card from the camera I have on one of my properties. I have a new target buck. I expect him to score about 105-110" once the velvet comes off. There's only one night in the last month he's shown up on camera but its still early, I suppose. There were a few other smaller bucks that stopped by but I'll pass on them till next year or the year after.

I've seen deer both in and out of velvet since I went back to work.

I was afraid they were starting to shed. I was really wanting to try to take a look at him this weekend before he had another week to shed. Unfortunately the wind is not the forcasted to be exactly what I wanted, but if he comes from where I think he will I should be okay with him.
