Both. I'll whack a few yearlings for the crock pot and maybe a nanny. Only looking for mature bucks.

Whatever I can with the tags I have. I donate to the food pantry every year, at least 2 deer. A big buck would be nice though.

Both. i hunt does primarily earlier in the season to even out the ratios between bucks and does also to fill up my freezer but when the action begins to pick up in the woods i become more of a trophy hunter.

Trophy for sure, I'll let anything under about 125'' walk unless it gets to the last few weeks then that number drops about 15" lol. I dont eat the meat so i donate the buck and i will take at least 1 doe that i donate to share the harvest.

I've always meat hunted growing up, but we only rifle hunted so three weeks isn't long when you got school or work. I am always on the look out for the big guys tho and managed to miss the biggest deer I've seen in my 13 years hunting. Hoping with the extended bow season ill be able to go for a big guy

I am definitely both. I will always fill my freezer, whether doe or buck or whathaveyou; that's my number one reason for hunting in general. now, the reason I sped ungodly amounts of time and money on this stuff and hunt 3-4 days a week september-january is because I want a wallhanger so badly I could cry!

I started hunting later in my life, my father in law introduced me to it and I took to it quickly, but I was 20 some years old; killing a spike or fork buck just wasn't interesting. I've even passed on many decent 6s and few smaller 8's. If I'm going to take a buck it's going to the taxidermist.

Both for me as well. I try to take a doe early in the season for the freezer, then patiently wait for my buck.

Meat! I try to leave the babies alone. Does, bucks, they all look the same in the freezer.

i consider myself a meat hunter, but if it has bone on the head it is just an added bonus.

I'm a meat hunter but will never shoot a young buck w/ less than 8 pts outside the ears. I have inadvertently taken a button buck once while gun hunting. I do know a lot of "if its brown its down" folks but most hunters on my piece of land practice QDM and leave young bucks alone. Now, a young doe is another story. A tender story.....

I guess I fall in to that "both" category. I'll usually shoot a few does early season but the driving factor for me during the archery season is to catch up with one of the big boys roaming around. I'd consider a season where I killed one of the mature bucks more of a success than a season where I killed five does. I end up keeping 2 or 3 deer a year and giving the rest to the food bank anyways...

I'm not able to hunt as much as i would like because i am a college student. So sometimes I don't buy a Doe Tag, my intentions are to shoot a nice buck. So i would say that i am a Trophy Hunter first and foremost TBH. This past season i got in my stand maybe 10-12 times because of school, so when i get the chance to be out there, i want to whack a bruiser!!!!
