Thats's a huge fox skull!! Just kidding of course Glad we don't have things like that lurking the woods around my way.
Thanks! Glad to be apart. I didn't get to go hunting this opening weekend cuz I had to work for the Fall ride but I'll go Wed and hopefully get a shot at a Doe or a nice Buck.
I'm Ready! Well boys I am ready. My Camo has been seasoned, my knife sharpened, and my pack stocked up. All I need is for the deer to play their part and I'm putting up points on the board. Congrats Born2Hunt on the Doe you shot! I think it's great we points already. Shoot Straight, Hunt Hard, and be safe.
Just got 4 stands in yesterday and assembled. Planning on hanging them on Saturday unless I can get a buddy to take a day off work. Will do my best to get my first sit of the year this Saturday evening.
Been traveling in Richmond the past two days, meeting Friday morning back in Baltimore and hopefully back in the stand Friday afternoon. Good luck and be safe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Went out last night for the first time. The rain let off enough that I didn't get wet. I get on the stand and got comfortable. I needed to adjust my seat a little and as I'm doing that I spot a deer within 30 yrds of me. It was a doe. Seconds later a Nub Buck in velvet came walking behind her. The Doe must've heard me move my seat cuz she was really spooky. I thought to myself, I can't believe I'm on my stand and 20 minutes I have deer moving through. LOL. Well anyway, the Doe decided to turn and walk back where she and the little buck came from. But the nubber stuck around enough for me to get some practice of being comfortable with having deer around me, (as sometimes I do get a little excited with deer in the area). Overall I was pleased with seeing deer in my first hunt even though there wasn't anything I wanted to shoot. Hoping to go out either Tonight or in the next couple of days.
Sounds like a nice night out in the woods. Best of luck to you. Remember a doe is needed in this competition.
I'll be in a stand saturday morning! Limited to shooting though. Due to moving the hunting room, I just got my arrows fletched so no shots over 20 yards. Not even perfect conditions.
Went out this evening, warm and humid ( you MD guys know what I'm talkin about). I did see 3 doe all out of range. I'll see how the weather holds out for this weekend, supposed to be raining again.
I hear ya on the rain. Another stalled low with chance of rain each day for the foreseeable future. Going out tomorrow anyway. Don't mind the early season ones as much as the cold November rains. Best of luck to you all this weekend.
