Scott: If either of us tag out early, we need to hold Caleb's little hand and show him how to shoot a deer.

Gimme a call one night when you're bored and we'll tell deer stories.

    Good luck this season, fellas.

Well I had a doe and her young'en come in and hang out. She was at 21 yards for ever. The little guy was closer. Good seeing deer again especially in a new place.

I always had a therma cel up north more cuz it was the thing to do, never used it hunting. Boy did I fire that baby up down here. It worked great and the deer didn't wind it at all.

There was some folks where I had scouted (the old lesson rings true, if you find a likely looking spot easily, most others have too). Went in cold found a nice ridge and climbed up!

Anyway lots of exploring to do. Good to be back out there!

Thanks for the report, keep it up. Sometimes other hunters can work
    To your advantage.

I should have some reports on Thursday. I'm taking my buddy with me for some doe management, and then my brother on Saturday. I'll keep you all posted and of course there will be pics.

Going to be busy for the opener tomorrow and Friday, but my butt will be on stand Saturday afternoon for some doe management. Best of luck to all of you.

Weather looks absolutely fabulous for the next couple days. lows in the 40's and highs in the 60s.

Just walked in from the morning out in the woods, and man it was great to be out there again.

The full moon really ruins the morning hunt. I only saw 2 doe and 1 little 6 pointer. I'll be heading out this evening hope to have better luck.

Well the weather changed before going out. Rain and high winds. The cold front moving in will be nice for Sat. hunt, so I can't wait. Wish I had better news.

Had a great day in the woods yesterday and wow did it ever get chilly in the afternoon here in MD. I saw 4 (3doe and a spike) myself the second half of the day but was never given a shot. Overall my 3 buddies who lease the property with me and I saw between 20-25 deer throughout the day. My one friends dad killed a doe at about 6:30 or so with his crossbow out of his groundblind. He's 70 years old and hadn't killed a deer in almost a decade, so it was good to see him get some action. Great to see this much movement on the property opening day and can't wait to get back out. Good luck to everybody going this weekend!

Just got 2 new private properties to hunt (I know I know, late but better than never) so I decided to do some minimal scouting on the one property along with Fall household chores. Ended up seeing 14 in 50 minutes. Was pumped to say the least. Hoping to get my first sit one afternoon next week.

Didn't kill until Oct 11th last year and still put 6 on the ground. Don't count me out yet.

Forkie It's never to late to scout, Our season doesn't end until Jan 31. No one will be counting anyone out this early in the game.

I saw a bunch of deer today, everything just out of range, man I hate that. Hopefully Monday evening will be cool like the past few days!!!

Looking forward to putting up some points for the team this year and getting to know everyone a little better. Looks like the state of MD is well represented also.

    Good luck team![/QUOTE]

well guys i got a doe tonight so 50 points to the good guys....it was roughly 27 yards away i had it on camera too but forgot to zoom it in. check the pics out on the scorecard not the best pictures but when your by yourself and have no one take a picture in the field it makes it harder to do.
