So the game warden butts up to my lease. We exchange a lot of info on hit list bucks along with the neighboring lease. He has this 3.5 year old 8 point he's been watching for the last three years that has stud potential! My section of woods butts up to him (no fence barriers) . In east Texas that is a hard deer to pass up. If it comes to me I'm probably not passing the opportunity.
Had what was probably the worst cams check ever last weekend... Had one that wasn't turned on, another that malfunctioned and is currently on its way back to the manufacturer, and nothing but dinks, does & fawns on the rest. But I'm not sweating it... as we all know, everything will change in a month anyway. Buckeye created a mock scrape on a trail that we've gotten some great pics from over the years and about 6 new cams went out in different areas that are new to us. I might be able to get to some of them next weekend or the weekend following.
It really does suck when you forget to turn a cam on, especially after you wait a couple of weeks or more to check them. I've done it, and it makes ya feel like a real smacked ass!
I'm headed up bright and early tomorrow will be checking a few cameras. Stay tuned. Hopefully got some shooters on camera.
Hate when the cameras dont work.. wait 2/3 weeks for nothing getting yor hopes up annnndd then getting let down. Happens to my alot haha
