Well, today would have been my first sit, but the mosquitos were unreal! I didn't even get 50yrds into woods before they were all over me, and drove me out. I couldn't swat them fast enough! Was only wearing short sleeves because it's so warm, so no way could I handle an evening hunt. I've never seen it like this, ever. Monday is supposed to be much cooler, so I'll try to get in my first sit then. :tu:

I was going to try for some hogs this morning but we are getting dumped on all day so I decided to sleep in. Anybody else have hogs in their area?

No, we don't have them here in Pa. There might be some escapees from game farms up north. Pretty rare though.

Had a cold front come in yesterday. Got out for a morning sit today with a buddy. 48* at 6 AM, had good doe movement along some fields. We both had some good shots on doe’s! First time in four years we’ve both harvested a deer on the same day. I ended up double lunging a doe at 27 yards. She made it about 80 yards and crashed. 50 points on the board for us fellas. Good luck to everyone this week!

Well I tried my hand at hog hunting this morning. Needless to say, it was a disaster. Started off with leaving my house. I noticed a little hesitation on my truck starting. Never had an issue with my battery going on 6 years I've owned the truck when I bought it brand new in 2012 (got my moneys worth)... I decide to leave and go to the lease anyways. I climb up to my lock on and wasp are all over my ladder forcing me to hunt from the ground. Rain came in a lot earlier than expected and drove me out. I get to my truck and battery is dead dead. Ended up having to get a hold of a stranger to come with a tractor to jump me off.

    * the only bright spot, I got within about 10-15 yards from a very nice 8 point that was hiding in the Buck brush. Kept seeing his antlers pop up over the brush line but never saw the body. The horns were extremely nice though as it appeared to be a really nice shooter

Good thing about a hunt like that is when everything goes just right in the future you’ll appreciate it just that much more. Better luck next time!

Well fellas this past Saturday I did my first hunting of the season (urban opened 15th in IN) and with it being an earn a buck it had to be an antlerless....but wouldn't you know only a 8 point 2.5 year old I suspect came by. Was honestly one I doubt I would have shot but definitely reminded me quickly how I love doing this stuff LOL! Got solid video footage of him slipping by though.

I run a Canon Vixia G20 as main cam on a 4th Arrow Fluid Head and with a 4th Arrow Stiff camera arm. Also a Rode Shotgun mic (forget exact model) plus a Varizoom Mini Lanc Remote.

I'll be uploading video of hunt tonight if softball gets rained out on to YouTube channel will share link.
