The dog and I went out shed hunting today and I decided to check my homebrew. I hit the motherload today. I'm really pleased with the quality and operation of this cam. There are a couple decent buck pictures in there too. No wonder I couldn't find any sheds...they are still carrying them.

I'm definitely wanting to make at least one more homebrew. I love this thing. It took 350 pics from Jan 5th until today and the battery life was still decent. I have 4 AA's running it.

I have seen a few kits available to build homebrew cam, can you tell us how many dollars $$ it cost to build one,,

I have a old moultrie cam that takes a camera but have not found a camera that will work in it.
maybe it can be reworked? thanks roger.

    Thanks guys!

Roger....this was my first build and it cost approximately $150. I probably paid a little more for the camera than I should have but I wanted to get started ASAP. Also, there were some things I bought that can be used several more times on other builds. My next build will probably be right around $115 or so....I think.

Its a P32, Dave. I think a P41 will be my next build though. I'd love to have 4-5 of these cams made. I might just do it too. :D

    Thanks.

Thanks Jim! I'm using a Bigfoot trailmaster board. I was thinking about going with something different with my next build but I can't argue with the results I am getting. Might stick with them.

I'm getting ready to build a P41 with a Snapshot Sniper board but if I build another, I will be trying a Bigfoot board. I really like the way the batteries are mounted on the board itself.

I agree...nice design. I think I could have probably gotten those external C's I wanted to use if I would have used the snapshot sniper board. But I can't complain...350 pics in about a month with battery life left isn't anything to complain about. Its been cold too.

Are you doing an IR build?

No, I really prefer white-flash cameras. In addition to the P41 I also have a P32 but I'm not sure I'm going to do anything with it. I saw some guys build using a Sony P150 on another site. It's pics looked as good as my S600 so I might be looking into one of those.

Gotcha. I like flash cams too but I guess an IR is the next step or more of a challenge, per se. Would you consider selling your P32 or are you going to hold onto it?

I probably will sell it. The only reason I got it was because it was with the P41 as a package deal.

    thanks.
do you have any pics of the cam.

does anyone know of a cam that will work in a old moultrie that took a hand cam put inside it or is there a kit to upgrade into a homebrew using the case?
