Every year a few of my friends and pack up the hounds and head to the North Woods for a week at rabbit (snow shoe hare) camp. The colors, scenery and friendship ...along with the great hunting is something we all look forward too. This year was three of and a dozen hounds in northeastern Maine... I will post a few videos as we get them uploaded to utube... This is our view from camp. ATTACH]52956[/ATTACH] Some of the country we hunted ...
Sounds like a good time! Did you guys end up limiting? We've had an over population of rabbits this year!
We killed a few yes, but we didn't limit out..not for lack of opportunity but because we were enjoying the running
That's the first time I have ever heard of a rabbit camp, but it sounds like a great time. Watching the dogs work would be a blast. I saw my first snowshoe hare a couple of weeks ago in Ontario. Pretty good sized rabbits!
Yes they have some size to them....they sure do run big. We get some great races with them ...the dogs really can get up and run them.
