It's a sad day in the Smith house . Today , due to a freak storm , we lost a well loved member of the family . We had always thought that she would have been well protected from the weather but had never planned on an 80mph east wind . She was well known in my community for the meals that she cooked and shared with others . Her grilled deer steak and shrimp will forever live in the minds of those that were lucky enough to show up in time to get their share . She worked tirelessly , without complaint , in the extreme heat/cold and had a way of making all the kids smile . Every time she would open her big mouth their eyes would lite up in anticipation . She had started suffering from cancer (A.K.A. rust) 2 years ago but I would have never thought that the simple act of falling over would have lead to her demise . Apparently if the rust is too bad it crumbles when it hits the ground . I righted her as gently as I possibly could but when I opened her up , I realized that she was gone . Oh well , guess it's time to get a new grill but I'll sure miss the one we had , well I'll probably miss the $$$ too
If you had left that third paragraph out until later in the thread, you'd have had me going right up until the end. That was pretty good. :D
LOL I sure wish you'd of left my 100 year old trees out of this . If they start falling now , I'm gonna have to hold you personally responsible Any recommendations on a new gas grill that will hold up for years ? Are the stainless steel grills worth the investment ?
I really don't know if they are worth the extra money, the last grill I bought was the standard Char Broil housing, NOT stainless steel and that was about 12 years ago. Burners and ignitors if you go with gas will need to be replaced once in a while, depending on how often you use the grill, but the rest of mine is holding up extremely well, and it sits outside all the time, uncovered.
Well I guess if it had to happen , it couldn't have picked a better time . Got an email today from the wholesaler where I purchased my last grill . 10% off all camping and outdoor cooking equipment . I've still got my charcoal grill that I prefer to use when I'm only cooking for us so I guess I'll wait and order a new gas grill next week while they're on sale
Does you homeowners insurance cover wind damage? If so they will pay for replacement cost. Not sure of it is worth putting a claim on your house for a grill though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
