This afternoon Saturday February 2nd 2013 @ Rough Creek Lodge in Texas former SEAL and military sniper Chris Kyle (author of American Sniper) was murdered. Chris and his neighbor were at the range working with a soldier suffering from PTSD, a program Chris runs, when the individual(who will remain unnamed here for he should not be the name remembered from all this) shot Chris and his neighbor at point blank range killing them both instantly. The suspect (who is in custody as of 9pm central time saturday) then fled the scene in Chris' Ford truck and was found 50 miles away south of Dallas. Upon retiring from service in 2009 Chris Kyle started a company called The Craft International which trains law enforcement and military personnel. He has 150 confirmed combat kills as a sniper from the years 1999-2009. He was once given the nickname "The Devil" by Taliban members in Irag and Afghanistan. Chris will be remembered as a humble generous and very thankful man. He served this country with the highest of integrity and dedication. Our hearts go out to his family and friends who will have a most difficult time ahead. Chris is survived by his wife and two children. God Speed Chris, we'll take it from here! SSG Stewart, Jacob
two other great books are Lone Survivor and Service by Navy Seal Marcus Luttrel I would suggest reading Lone Survior first .......before Service. If i remember correctly kyle had proceeds from sales go to help veterans
what an absolutely shi**y way to go. he survived the war & die like that, lousy. RIP, and once again someone suffering with a mental issue is being taken care of. It's especially hard since he was trying to help that young man with his PTSD, and something obviously caused him to snap. Not that I'm sticking up for him, but he is a vet that CK was helping out. At least according to the news reports.
This country is a more dangerous place without this American Hero walking this free land...RIP Sir...
It's very sad to think his wife and child lost him and won't have him around. Very sorry to hear this news
I believe a portion of the proceeds from American Sniper go to his foundation Fitco Cares. It's an organization that helps disabled vets and those suffering from PTSD. RIP brother-in-arms.
