I don't usually get into the facebook quiz things but this one was pretty cool... and pretty spot on. I took the quiz and based on my answers of how I pronounce things... it said I match the Richmond VA, Greensboro NC, or Columbus Georgia region... Well considering I live between Richmond and Greensboro.... I'd say that's pretty dang close. Here's the link: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2013/12/20/sunday-review/dialect-quiz-map.html
Was just about to post this myself, my 3 most similar were Greensboro and Raleigh NC, follwed by Mobile, AL. Considering I've lived in the NY metro area my entire life, I'm slightly confused.
It put me the most between DC and Richmond.... Hmm Grew up outside of Baltimore Md and now live in Pennsylvania... I guess that's close enough lol <+>< Ps 46: 1 ><+>
Considering I live in Milwaukee, the bubbler question really nailed it and will every time. That will skew the test all the time for us cheeseheads !!!
Interesting. It puts me right in Michigan. Right on since I grew up here and have never been anywhere else except for a couple days in Japan to get my eyelids done.
North Alabama... my home town (neck of the woods) is a coal mining community near Jasper called Aldridge. So far out, the stops signs say WHOA! On second thought... I don't think there are any.
I took it after I saw it on FB the other day. Baltimore, DC and Arlington. I've lived my whole life in MD, so I'd say its spot on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk www.skyangler.com
It said mine was Boston and Fresno. Opposites of the country and neither close to Iowa. I think the fact that I spent the greatest part of my military career away from the Midwest might have had something to do with it.
My three most similar cities are Minneapolis/St Paul, Madison, and Aurora I grew up in West/central MN and currently live in West Fargo, ND
I just took it and it pegged me right between Boston, MA, Providence, RI, and Worcester, MA. Thats dead on for me. I'm directly between all three of those. I'd say thats pretty accurate.
Has me from Detroit but the people I know from Detroit speak with a funny accent. I am from Canada! T
