Trying to decide on the best type of quiver to use deer/bear hunting in upstate ny. I hunt often in blinds but sometimes I'm on the move . Have been told that shooting without a quiver is better. Any input would be appreciated. My rig is an Elite Impulse 31 if it helps.

I bought a new Martin back in the early 90's and it was the first new bow I had ever owned at the time. It came with a mounted quiver which I thought was so cool. After one season it was back off and I have not had one mounted to a bow since. Carry my arrows and bolts in tubes made by OMP. Had to add to the strap but it works fine.

Can't go wrong with a tight spot.

2nd vote to the tight spot especially if you plan on leaving it on. It locks tight and close to the bow to reduce torque and weighing down the right side of the bow.

I have used a backpack style quiver since I was 16 and will probably never change. The brand is Rancho safari cat quiver. Very durable quiet and holds arrows very well. A plus is the built in storage pouches.

A lot of people say shooting with the quiver off is best because they always use janky quivers. Too heavy, stick out too far, make noise, etc. So they take them off and hang them in the tree. Once in SD I stalked a deer and missed judged the yaradage shot over the deer. I went to get a follow up arrow and realized my quiver was back with my pack, doh! I switched to Tightspot after that and I stopped taking my quiver off. They balance superbly, are extremely quiet, and can adjust to any arrow diameter. Expensive yes, but to me worth every penny.

I don't practice with a quiver on, so I don't hunt with one on. I just hang it on a screw hook while hunting.

I bit the bullet and bought a tight spot last year. It hasn't come off my bow since and it never will.

Thanks seems like tight spot wins the vote I'll have to look into them I will have to decide on how many arrows may go with a 3 to keep weight down

My father always told me If you are good, you only need one arrow anyway.

I carry three and take the quiver off the bow when I get in tree.

hunt with quiver on my pack. if I need to drop the pack and move forward I'll pop a small 3 arrow kwikee on the bow to carry a couple extra arrows forward. I hunt from the ground still hunting, etc, and want arrows off the bow to reduce material for the deer, hog, or turkey more to see if I move. also shooting under windy conditions its easier with less material on the bow. just my 2 cents.
