Don't want to say I'm behind the times or anything, but had a Quinoa salad for the first time today. Not too bad.
Although everything I read said it has a "nutty flavor", it was more of a woody taste to me. In the salad we had with mint, lemon and corn, it wasn't bad.
Its pretty good. Somewhat a texture between couscous and a wild rice. Flavor is somewhat nutty, maybe like a cross between barley, brown rice and a wild rice. Its Real good mixed with a marinated tomato and onion salad and a bit of feta cheese. -Bill
Yeah we make it with feta cheese, chopped up onions, and chopped up cucumbers. It's pretty tasty, and healthy too.
I love it. My wife makes a salad with quinoa, cucumbers, feta cheese, corn and mint. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk www.skyangler.com
We eat quinoa all the time. Usually cook in either wine or chicken broth, or otherwise it does not have much flavor. Add some feta cheese, roasted cherry tomatoes, basil, mint, and you got yourself a nice, healthy little side salad.
Love me some quinoa. Just last night I cooked some up with garlic, then sauteed mushrooms & spinach, mixed it all together and sprinkled some peccorino ramono cheese over it.
Quinoa is decent! The wife and I make it as a main dish with grilled chicken breast, lime juice, onion, tomato, and chopped avocado. Not my favorite food in the world, but it's good and healthy
