Hey guys, I'm new to the forums and was looking for some input. What works better on your hunting arrows, NAP Quik Spins or Blazers with helical?
Im shooting both right now, Duravane Predators with right 2* offset actually. The Quickspins are louder in flight and a little heavier, naturally, but more accurate. However, the predators accuracy is still blatantly in the realm of acceptable. IMHO, unless you get a good deal on the NAP's it's not worth it to me. I like the duravanes over the blazer because they are more pliable and easier to fletch, better contact on the shaft.
In my opinion a helical on blazers doesn't accomplish much, if anything. Quikspins work as advertised. I have used both and will stick with my 4" feathers with an offset helical fletch. Also in my opinion, the fletching should not make the arrow more accurate, it should make it more forgiving. With good form and no environmental factors I can shoot a bareshaft accurately. It is when you throw in form issues (say twisting around and in a treestand) and maybe some wind that the fletching really earns its' keep. It keeps the arrow on track. Good fletching, blazers, quikspins, plastic vanes, feathers, etc., will make your arrow more forgiving.
I use 4" feathers on all arrows now , but I did use the quikspin hunters ST and I liked them a lot .... very accurate and I did not find them noisy at all , fletch them with a little offset .
