Is a deer walking though those crunchy leaves Jeff has been talking about.

Things are heating up here, I passed on a great buck tonight because he was broken off right after his G2 on his left side. I was at full draw at last light on him and had to let down because it didn't meet the requirements my buddies have set for their grandpa's land. He still would have been my best buck to date, and it definately stung a little. I'm trying to dig up a trail camera photo of him right now...

I had a doe walk down the same trail not 5 mins before he did. I grunted him into twelve yards but not after he made a rub in between him and I. Needless to say, I was pinned in the stand for about 30mins past shooting light. He would NOT go away, just teasing me. I was fortunate enough with the full moon and binoculars I was able to watch him prance around the whole time. "It was worth the price of admission"

Saw three does, and this lone buck. Looking back on it and after talking it over with my buddies, I probably should have taken the shot, because otherwise he was an exceptional buck. I second guessed myself so I had to let down. That's one of the hardest things to do especially when they are broadside at 12yds :(

I'm looking forward to the coming weeks. Muzzleloader opens here this weekend.

I'm pretty sure this is the same buck. When he was in tact. Now he's broken off on his left side just past the G2.

There were some other really good bucks running around this summer in a huge bachelor group. Couple of them would be pushing 120", which is a STUD for here. This setup is about 150yds from where these pictures were taken, in between bedding areas. Rubs are really starting to pop up. All my buddies are hunting the fields, and I'm in the woods. Needless to say, I have a lot of confidence in this setup.

I think the best sound is the one you hear when your arrow finds its mark...

The second best sound is the leaves crunching just before you shoot :)
