I have two climbers that I currently utilize, one of which is fairly quiet and the other which is REALLY loud. It is all metal, including the bar across the back (not a cable climber in other words) What kind of tricks have you done to quiet a loud and squeaky climber down.

Is the climber itself making the noise as the stress and strain is going through it or is the interaction between the tree and the climber making the noise?

Stress and strain going through it, like when you are shifting your footing or weight on the top or bottom platform.

That problem is a much tougher one to solve since this is causing the noise. One thing to start with is that all bolts are very tight so nothing moves and you create the least amount of bending possible.

You would also be surprised what a fresh coat of paint will do for noise with metal.

Can you add any extra supports? I realize that would add weight.

There also is spray on sound dampening material you can buy. Look at your local big box hardware store. Car stereo people use it. It is like a thick rubber material. This will also add weight.

Otherwise this might just be the nature of the beast with this stand.

I traded my Summit in on a Lone Wolf.

yea that would do, but its not a summit, to be honest I dont even know what it is. I got it for free from a buddy, and it works great, but man it can draw some looks when I try to stand up and shoot. May just have to go foot the bill for a new API or Summit some time soon.

IF the noise can be isolated to bolts connnecting the stand buy some teflon or plastic washers and place them in between each contact point. That should quiet it down.
