I have a standard 3 pin sight, I'm not to sure if the pins are supposed to represent a specific distance related to a manufactured spec. So can just choose which distance I want each to be to. For example, I can make the top pin 10 yards, the middle one 20 yards and the bottom one 30 yards, and subsequently top pin say 15 yards middle 25 yards and bottom one 40 yards?

Yes thats correct. Although I would suggest setting your top pin at twenty as there isnt much difference from ten to twenty yards.

Good to know. Reason I want to set it at 10 20 and 30 is because I need to take a bow hunting course where I'm from and the 2nd exam is a practical shooting test. I need get 3 out of 5 arrows in the vital zone of five animal targets located at different distances (10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 m). Yes I know I stated yards but I will be adjusting by meters. Afterwords yes it would make sense to start at 20m which is pretty much like 19 point something yards I think.

    Thank you.

Actually a meter is longer than a yard and 20 meters would be about 22 yards I think. But if you set them at 20, 30 and 40m, the 20 would probably take care of the 10, 15 and 20 and you could split the 20 and 30 pins for the 25. If you set them up this way you would be ready to hunt.

Well just got back from the range. I spent a good 2 hours adjusting the sights, I didn't need to adjust the fiber optics they are actually very good the way they are. The last hour I was having some issues with my arrows fraying at the tip where its supposed to be flush with the bottom of the field point, either the backboard I was shooting at was too hard.. or they were hitting something in the back..I have no idea, either way I'm a little upset, but I guess its normal. I fixed one today at work and it worked fine all night. I did however loose a insert and field point. But all in all at the end of my sighting session I tested my adjustments at 22 yards.. 1 shot 1 kill style at a target the size of a pop bottle cap and I hit it pretty frigg'n close to dead center. So I'm happy with sights. I just hope that after I fix the other arrows that frayed, that they wont give me any more grief at the range. I'm using Easton Full Metal Jackets they say 400g on them, my draw weight is about 55lbs with a draw length of 27".. hoping this is ok because its what the guy at the shop recommended. The only bad thing is that the bow range only goes as far back as 22 yards. If I want to practice from 33 yards I have to almost stand in the front desk lol. But the guy there said if I come sometime and no ones around he'll let me shoot from the lobby area.. I like this man. Anyways guys thanks for the support so far. I'm having a great time.. I can only imagine how great it will be to finally taste some venison that I harvested myself.
