If it was me...I knew for sure it was my Deer. I'd tag it and feel good about myself. Just me though....
Why should he tag it? He doesn't even know if its the deer he shot. For all he knows I shot it and lost it. It was a long shot, he looked for signs of a hit and found nothing. And nobody ever UNDER estimates the size of a deer
Not much chance of that happening. This is my older brother we're talking about, and he's a preacher. The reason I asked the question for him is that neither of us have ever encountered this situation before. He isn't going to hunt again until he calls the DNR on Monday and finds out what they say. If they tell him to tag it, he'll tag it. If not then he gets a freebie. He's honest, but he's not stupid. He hasn't scored it yet, but his estimate was a bit off. The inside spread is only 22". It's a mainframe 8 point with a double G3 on the right side. My brother is guessing he'll score around 160. I don't see 160", but then again I suck at that. :D
An eight that goes 160 has got to be really big... like a 100 inches of point and mass measurements. Sounds like a dandy of a buck though just the same.
Really? It was the last thing listed and was a question...indicated by a failry obvious question mark. Find something else to take a chip shot over. There is nothing else listed that everyone else hadn't listed or didn't eventually list and then there was my followup post saying tag it with his legal tag or call an agent....for pete sake.
Oh, my bad.....I forgot it was the last thing listed. I must have confused that one with the "dont bother reporting it" option. Or, the "claim it as an EHD" option. So...ya, really.
