I'm not necessarily new to the forum I've been on for about a year but I was wondering how something worked I'm not getting impatient just curious. In my info it still recognizes as a "newb" and i see guys that joined after me and they aren't anymore and I didn't know if it was based on the number of posts you make or the administrators judge the content of your posts or something I'm not thinking about but if you guys know how it works I would appreciate if you would let me know thanks.
Yup, the first moniker (ie, junior member, senior member) is based on time. The second one is based off of your post count.
Thanks for clearing that up. Kind of funny being a "NewB" with over 20 years of bowhunting under my belt. Titles are irrelevant, the whitetails hanging in my garage every fall are not.
Guess the question is if you have been on the site for a year now why do you only have 29 posts? Why not participate more you newb? LOL
Maybe a disclaimer needs to be posted. *Actual thread participation is required to raise personal status from NewB to Grizzled Veteran. Or sent friendly email to Admin asking "Please upgrade my status to Grizzled Veteran". Too many grey hairs in my beard to be a NewB.. haha
Very good point jfergus7 i thought about that too my computer broke over last summer so i didn't even get to log on for about 5 and a half months it was horrible and i felt kind of weird posting on peoples threads to give them advice and stuff because i felt like a know it all but i realized thats what this whole forum is for so i've loosened up a bit
Most of us here are familiar with forums, so we know that newb, refers to new to the board, not necessarily new to hunting. Just a post or two will tell us how much you do or do not know. I've got over 500 posts, but know very little, so many people with a few posts are more knowledgeable than me. I only pay attention to post count, so I know who not to piss off. LOL
I will probably always be a newb. I enjoy shooting, and hunting, but don't really like the computers too much. I'm learning them, but at 54, not that interesting in being anything but a newb. I really enjoy reading some of the info here though. Great knowledge..and with the limited experience I have, I am enjoying learning from you young bucks anything I can.
