I am looking into buying a harness system as last year i used the one that came with my summit stand. i like the hss ones, but have a question about how they work. reading their site it appears they have a very nice system so you attach it once above your stand then leave it there and makes for easy in and out all the time. my thing is that i will hunt mostly public land and wont leave anything out there as it will likely get stolen and i will hunt different spots. are they set up to be used like a standard system so you can use them every day as you climb and then come down as well as while you are in the stand? i assume they are but it made it sound like once you're up there you are good, but going up and down only if you have that permanent set up above your stand. hope this isnt too confusing thanks in advance
Ill be hunting public land this year also. I bought the HSS ultra lite and to go along with it i bought the rope style tree strap. its very easy to set up and move up and down the tree as i climb with my climber. if you do get a HSS look into the rope style strap. it works great. hope this helps
The HSS can be used just like a regular harness. The Life-Line is the rope you are referring to that you can use in more permanent sets. You buy Life-Lines seperately. I have two on the couple stand I leave out all season. The majority of the time I set-up and tear down each hunt. For these you just use a regular tree strap (included with your vest). Like Oly, I prefer the rope style straps. I use the ones that came with my Lone Wolf stands. I can use it as a linemans rope while hanging my stand, and then a safety strap once I'm set up
The linemans belt works great. i practiced with it a few time setting up my LW stand and it works great. its nice to have both hands to work.
ok thanks guys i figured itd come with a strap to use but just little confusinfrom description. ill be getting one for this season as ive heard nothing but great reviews. thanks
