Have you ever used them or seen them installed? The hot water shrinks the tube and also activates the glue that goes from one end to the other. Try them once and you will probably never want to fletch your own again. Then shoot them and you really wont.

Cool arrows. Do they make ones for high school drop outs:)

    Just kidding.....
    I got a GED:)

But seriously folks. Do you guys just buy the blank shafts with nocks and inserts and then put your own quick fletches on?

I have my local pro shop cut my arrows (Easton FMJ's) to size and glue in the HIT inserts. I then put on the QF Quick Spins after I get home. It's super easy and all the arrows are the same...

I'm right there with you but, I'm in college now. Best thing I could have done. As far as arrows go, I bought this last dozen before I started using QF's. My next arrows, I will be buying bare shafts and building them with my choice of inserts, knocks and using QF's on them.

Thanks. I admire you for putting yourself through college.
I was just kidding about the GED, I need that new reversed sarcasm font. I got a diploma but they were pissed about giving it to me:) Took some night classes at the junior college and went to work for myself at age 23. That's why today I'm trying to catch up on having fun like bow hunting and fishing.

I have worked for myself also. I really enjoyed the flexibility but, after a while just got burnt out on it. I had a decent business starting up in the car audio world and then some things happened in my personal life that put that to a screeching halt. Now I just want to get my degree and work for a company and retire and make good money for my family doing it. I admire anyone who can work for themselves and put up with the stress and make it work.

If you try the QF's I am sure you will love them. NAP is a great company that has the best customer service i have ever dealt with.

First off I got the wraps at onestringer.com I'm sure they could design something for a drop out. :moose:

To answer your question, yes I buy bare shafts. I just purchased a dozen CX Maxima Hunter KV arrows. They'll show up and I'll build them. I do everything from cutting it down to putting on the fletchings myself. I enjoy doing it. I don't like doing it for other people, but like doing it for myself.

I've been thinking about buying a saw and doing it all myself. I have a good shop that I trust to do my arrow cutting but, I am the type that likes to do it myself also. That way I don't have anyone else to blame if something isn't right. I get mad pretty quickly if someone else mesees something up especially wih my hunting stuff and driving 30 min to the pro shop is a pain.

What is a good saw that won't break the bank? Do you use a squaring tool? if so have you heard anything good or bad about the G5?

Sorry to hear about your business not working out. Working for another company can sometime bring a lot of quality to your life. Working for yourself as you know, your boss is ALWAYS on your ares:) but don't quit your side business completely if you don't have to. I always tell people to have some hobby or business on the side to add a little extra income to the pot and see where it takes you.
    Good luck.

The idea of using the QuickFletch does appeal to me just because it's quick and easy, but at $40.00 a dozen plus shipping (for what I would want) the ease of use doesn't make up for the price. I get Onestringer wraps with double dogs for $15.00 a dozen. Add the cost of three blazers and a drop of quality super glue and I spend a lot less for something that I did myself and, in my opinion, looks a lot better. I also really enjoy doing it myself and take pride in a job well done.
