Anyone familiar with them? I got some NAP ones put them on and today shot with them and they actually came off of the arrow. I let them set the suggested time but maybe I did something else wrong? I got water to a boil, let them set the suggested 10 seconds and dry for an entire day. Any ideas? Thanks.
Sorry to ask, but did you clean the arrow before putting them on? Typically you want to clean any residue from old fletchings off and wipe them down with alcohol.
Ive used quite a bit and never had any problems and I shoot them through a whisker biscuit. Ive heard of some screwing up by actually putting them on while the water is still boiling. I pour the water in a tall cup and put them on. Sent from my Atrix using Tapatalk
Sounds like a greasy shaft mate. I remember fletching a dozen shafts once only to have every vane fall off every shaft as I didn't know to clean them first :/ pretty bad feeling lol
I've been using them for several years now and never had the problem you describe. As has been stated, I would make sure your shafts are nice and clean. Or there's always the possibility you got a defective batch. Blessings......Pastorjim
I just did 6 arrows last night. I peeled off the old veins, used a razor blade to remove the old residue and use paint thinner to clean the shafts. Thast the only thing I had to clean hem with. I let them sit and then dipped them in boiling water. I will probably wiat until tomorrow to shoot them. I hope this does not happen to mine.
I have been using them this year and I like them so far, really easy. None of my have come off. Has anyone noticed that the vanes on the quickfletch seem a little more brittle than having a shop fletch your arrows? Seems like mine are getting destroyed more from shots that are close together.
Thats because they are so damn accurate that you are constantly banging arrows. Shoot at different spots and you won't have that problem. I've been using them for 2 years now and never had one come off my arrow. But I did have a vane tear off after it went thru my beat up block target. I don't think that is a failure tho.
They did have a bad batch. I bought a pack and the samething happened and they replaced them for me. Also chexk ur pack cause im pretty sure they say not to use any type of cleaner on your arrow before putting them on
All mine said was remove the old fletchinngs, clean the shafts place on shaft and submerge into "boilling" water for at least 10 seconds. As far as I remember it didn't say anything about dry time either. Unless I over looked it but, I try to always read everything on a package. Even if I have used the product before just incase something changes.
It doesn't say anything about cleaning or not cleaning on the package I have. It just gives three directions for putting them on the arrows: boil water, put in tall glass, dip in water for 10 seconds. I just figured since it was an adhesive product, having a clean surface would be better than not having one.
It just made sence to me to clean it. Any other product that sticks to something with a glue instructs you too. Maybe they should add that to the instructions.
I used the quick fletch about a year ago ams the same thing happened to me. Vanes just started ripping off the arrows. And actually come to think of it, nothing I have ever used from nap had been any good. The quicktune 360 fell apart on about the 5th arrow, that freedom rest blew up(litterally) after about 10-15 arrows, I can't get anything from that company without it breaking. So I just refuse to buy anything with the nap label on it.
