A friend shared this with me and I thought I would share with you all. He bought some 3M reflective tape from the hardware store the kind made for mailboxes or driveway posts ect. He cut a 1/4" strip and wrapped the end of each of his arrows right between the fletching and the nock. Man it's really cool how well It lights up with a flashlight. Could be used as an alternative to find your arrow or along with a lighted nock (in case of failure). Thoughts?

I have seen that done before. You can buy an actual arrow wrap made out of that stuff, like 7 inches long or something like that. I almost bought a dozen of them

They do make things easier to find but that stuff is heavy and it's going on the wrong end of the shaft. I think the reflective wraps are 3x's heavier than a normal one.

I was thinking the same. Great idea but not sure about the weight.

Surprised no arrow makers are putting on their arrows.

If the arrow wrap is 3x havier I can definately see a problem. But will a small 1/2" piece make much diff?

Try one and see how far it moves the balance point of the arrow. Probably won't be that much but would be good info to know before wrapping everything.

Yep, what he said. Try it and see. Its a simple experiment and if it doesnt work, take it off.

Let us know how it goes! :deer:

I would think some manufacturer would just make reflective flitches.

    Keep us posted.

That would make too much sense. In fact, they would have to start charging more for them.

The CXMUZZYRAGEBLAZERSOOPERDOOPERFLETCH reflective in your choice of white, green, or yellow. :deer:

Remember that it also effects the spine of the arrow. Adding weight to the back stiffens the dynamic spine.

They can't be heavier then a lighted nock. With that said I don't see a prob with it in most instances unless you are using both.

My lighted nocks are 17 grains

I do like the idea of the reflective fletchings. I am surprised no one has made them yet.

if that doesnt work out try neon colored arrow wraps. i like to use neon pink and not only do they look sweet but they are probably as close to reflective tape as you could get. Very easy to find in the dark.
