Ok I might have, maybe, possibly obtained some private land to hunt in southwest Ohio. So here's my questions...
    1. Do you have to carry written permission on your person while hunting?
    2. Im assuming the first week in Nov. But whens the rut?
    3. Whats the deal on minerals?
    4. Any other suggestions/recomendations would be great!

I know all this is in the regulations, but thought I would ask too...as sometimes other states regs can be confusing.

    Also post #1000!!

I can not answer all of the questions but I do know for sure that you can use minerals. You can also use corn to bait deer as well.

Congrats on your 1,000 post. Keep them coming :)

Depending on where in the SW you may have some good ground that doesnt get hunted much.

    1. Do you have to carry written permission on your person while hunting? Yes
    2. Im assuming the first week in Nov. But whens the rut? Late Oct. the bucks start really moving, 2nd week of Nov. is usually better here.
    3. Whats the deal on minerals? Minerals and bait is allowed in OH

I would agree with the end of October being a good time to see some great bucks. Seems like I get the most day time buck movement on camera during the last week of Oct. I'm taking a couple days off on the week of Oct. 22nd and a week off from Nov. 5th - 11th

Central ohio.... if you can hunt the last week of Oct. I would say you stand alot better chance of killing a mature buck on the property imo, Find an active scrape line and watch out! If you want more of a free for all hunt during the rut week 2 usually the does cycle in more and bucks from all over will be moving

PS- All of the above is accurate & good advice.

PSS- There are no deer near Caleb because his brother killed em all!

PSSS- It took me 3 years to reach 1000 posts. I'm proud of that!! :D

Ok heading up on a road trip tomorrow to check out the land. Fingers crossed that its a good spot. Also I will be taking my 4 1/2 year old son with me so we will be stopping by the zoo. Im excited for me and him to get out and go somewhere, just the two of us. Hopefully I can post some pics later on!

Well yes and no...land looked pretty good. But thfere are a couple of people that help the guy out around his place and he allows them to hunt it. I was told going in that no one hunted it. But well see....still on the lookout.
