Hey guys, I'll be doing some more mobile hunting this year and have decided to add a Lone Wolf hang on and sticks to my arsenal. However I do have a few questions for you all with them:

I was going to get this set up:
    http://m.cabelas.com/cabelas/product?cid=1255303&id=745770

    http://m.cabelas.com/cabelas/product?cid=1256081&id=1208468

    Now my questions are these:
-Cheapest place to get either of these from?
-How many steps are there? 3 or 4?
-Does the stand come with a linemans belt, safety harness, and Ez hang bracket? Ez hang will be a must for me.
-Are there any accessories I should get for the stand? I've seen something about a plastic thing for the bow holder? Also footrest?

-Other than this I'll just have to add another tree strap, and another pull up string or two.

    1. Cheapest place to get them from - Lone Wolf has MAP pricing which pretty much fixes the price of how much people can sell them for. Your best bet is to look for places that will give you free shipping, and order from somewhere out of state so you don't have to pay sales tax. :)

    2. There's 3 sticks in that link you posted.

    3. Stand comes with harness and EZ hang bracket, but not a lineman's belt. My personal recommendation would be to pick up a Hunter Safety System. Best harness I've ever used.

    4. I never use the built-in bow holder. It's a great idea, but I prefer the screw-in type holder for the tree. Carry one of those in your pack and you'll free up the entire platform area for standing without worrying about knocking your bow over. I do like the LW foot rest for long sits, but it can be a little noisey on those times when you are packing in and out. If you get it, just be sure to keep the screws tight so they don't bang around while you're setting up.

Also, the stand comes with 2 tree straps so you shouldn't need another unless you wanted to have a spare.

Good luck with it. I'm sure you won't be disappointed! :tu:

    Great hang-on.
You'll want 4 sticks at least. IMO
Buy the comfort seat. Didn't care the foot rest and I'd go with a Muddy harness or tree spider harness but the one that comes with the stand is good.
Bow holder on stand is not good. Look into the thirdhandarchery.com I think their bow holder will work or a screw in.
Also make or buy a safety line.

One thing Justin: I just got my Lone Wolf Alpha two or three weeks ago and it did not come with the EZ hang hook. It did come with the off-set bracket (batwing), but not the EZ hang hook. I had to order that separately.

Thanks guys I appreciate all the responses. I think I will try to go get the stand at Cabelas or order it off ebay. From there I can see what it comes with and get what I want after that.

Then I can pick up 4 sticks as well.

I already plan on getting a screw in bow hanger, a linemans belt and Ez hang (if they end up not coming with it) as well as the lifeline system. That way if I hang it and decide to leave it I can.

I've heard good things about the lonewolf linemans belt. Just because it is smaller and has the clips. Anyone support this?

They no longer come with them. They can be purchased seperately though.

My dealer sells Assault 2s for $199. You can probably find a good deal on a new or used one on the Archery Talk classifieds.

If I were you I would wait till the end of the season to buy one. I got my alpha 2 for $189 and 3 sticks for $100. I agree with getting 4 sticks too.

I just bought the same setup and found the best deal on bowhunting outlet.com since they shipped everything together. But I didn't check eBay and should have. It's a great set up and was glad I read this forum before buying. Good advice all around.

Check out the leaverage sticks as well. Same weight but they've got steps on both sides of the sticks.

And I have a sixth leaverage stick I may sell if someone needs one.

The harness that comes with the stand is ok when using a climber however it is not great for a hang on where you will utilize the lineman's belt. It doesn't have the sewn in loops like higher end harnesses such as muddy or HSS have. you could put a linemans belt on it but it's not great. I would recommend the 4th stick as well, especially after leaf drop. Buy the 3rd hand archery or api holder you can get at Bass Pro for the side of the stand, frees up the middle. I also have a LW quiver mount which is for the treelimb quiver. Pretty slick.

Here in Pa on public land screw in hangers are illegal so I use the TreeApron strap on bow hanger. I hang my bow, quiver, and back pack all from it. The only negative is your bow is pretty close to the tree. I have a LW handclimber and have only been able to use the built in bow holder with recurves, my compounds never seem to fit it correctly. Plus like Justin said it limits your movement taking up platform space.

Everyone talking about the harness that comes with the LW must have gotten a different one than me? Care to post pictures of it?

Just thought I'd update everyone, I ordered the Alpha II this morning from Bowhuntingoutlet.com for $215 shipped. Would have gotten free shipping (save $10) if I spent over 350, but since I just ordered a new creed I need to wait on the sticks and the rest. :p

If you attach anything to the back of your stand sticks, backpack, etc I recommend the kwik straps.
