I have a couple of questions about arrow rests. I just purchased an Elite Energy 35 and I'm trying to decide on a rest. I was all set to get a QAD but someone from a new archery shop in my town told me I really needed to buy the QAD that is specific to Elite. Is this true or will any QAD work on it? If that's true I may go with the Ripcord, which is what I have been shooting. Anyone have any thoughts on this subject?

    Blessings.........Pastorjim

Elite teamed with QAD to make an elite QAD hdx.

To answer your question, NO, you do not need to go with the "Elite" QAD, any QAD rest will work. The only difference between regular QAD rests and the "Elite" version is a difference in the actual mounting bracket where it attaches to the bow. If you look at QAD's website you will not there is one for PSE, Bowtech, Mathews, Hoyt and Elite. Each has small mounting differences and that Brands insignia on the rest.

I would go with the Rip Cord. I absolutely love mine and have been shooting it for a while. I have found it to be easier to setup than the QAD. Hope this helps and good shooting!

I switched from a ripcord once Jim. I ended up switching back.
    Are you in southeast IN?

No, halfway between Indy and Ft. Wayne.

Definitely get your bow specific model if you can! They make em that way, so that when tightened down, they are pulled up against and "locked" on the riser and will never move. The standard rest can be bumped to where it will pivot if not tightened down good enough. I have a Hoyt HDX on my Carbon Spyder and i would recommend them to anyone. I like ripcords too but like the size and operation of the QAD even better

No, you don't have to have the brand specific. I just put a regular 'ol QAD HDX on my new faktor. No way that thing can move and I saved myself about 30 bucks.
