Back before we had a show we used to go to a lot of consumer trade shows - mostly deer & turkey classics - simply to promote Bowhunting.com as a website. We tried to sell Bowhunting.com shirts but unless someone was an active member of the site they didn't want to buy them. So I wanted to come up with what I thought was a cool bowhunting saying that would appeal to more people. Something where if you saw it on a shirt you'd go "Yeah, I'll wear that.". So my idea was to do Bowhunt or Die shirts. Yes - inspired by the classic 80's Nintendo game Skate or Die.

That fall I went on an elk hunt to Colorado and when I returned Todd said to me "We're going to do an online show - we need to think of a name.". I had already been working on some Bowhunt or Die shirts and suggested that we used that. It took some convincing to get Todd on board as he thought it was too aggressive, but eventually he agreed and now here we are.

My second idea was "The Bow Nerds" but he shot that one down too.

We have nothing against public land or people who hunt it, but it's a tough thing to find someone who hunts a lot of public land, wants to go through the hassle of filming their hunts, and is actually successful at it. And isn't filming on Forest Service land that requires thousands of dollars in permits to use the footage for commercial videos.

I'm about to slide the old Vans on and break out the vintage Thrasher mag collection.
