I came across this scrape under my deer stand. By looking at it would you say that he might have six points in one side? Or what do you make out of the six lines?

If on public I'd almost think probably made by a person :) haha! They do rack ground with headgear of course so possible as well.

Cant be from the tree branch. The branch looks low to the ground because I took the picture form 20 feet up n the air the branch is about 3 feet high from the ground, As you can see on the picture it has a similar lines on the apposite side. this is not on public land no one is allowed to hunt this property but me and my son and ex in-law. I seen scrapes before with lines like that I dont know if bucks took their antlers and rubbed them on the ground.

Lines are too uniform. Rake, me thinks.

That's not a scrape... that's a bear track! I'd be real careful. :tu: Glad I could help.

Most of the time when you see lines in the scrapes like that it is actually from the deer's hoof as it pawed the dirt when making the scrape. I see that often on my property where deer will have several lines dug in the ground....however I too think those are too uniform, and the fact that it is under your stand makes me think someone may be playing a trick on ya. Put a trail cam on it and see what is showing up?!

Bingo! We may have a winner. I've seen lots of scrapes with grooves in them from the buck pawing up the ground with his hooves. But, there is something "funny" looking about those. Hard to get a sense of scale from the pic, but if a buck made those marks it looks like he has Shaquille O'Neal size feet! Also, as sharp as those gouges are, if a buck made them, it would have been when the ground was damp. But the whole scene looks quite dry. Maybe take a stick and scuff them out, and flip a few leaves into the scrape as well. See what happens.
