When I first started bow hunting I was poor and couldn't afford a truck. I drove an old, ugly.Mazda GLC hatchback.I carried quite a few deer in that vehicle.

Any man who bow hunts..is not poor. If such a bow hunter was to show up in the field driving a tricked out 4X or if he steps on the field with a flat tire on the back of his mountain bike, that there is a Rich man...at least for that day.
O,..add woman in there to be "correct"

    That is AWESOME!!! Good Stuff!

I too have taken cars/wagons before hunting, theres no shame in it! As long as you get to hunt, thats all that matters!

I hunt out of my scion Xb. Toaster Munster mobile whatever. 36 mpg helps on those trips to the eastern sierras. My nearest spot is over an hour drive. Work truck gets about 10 mpg.

I don't care what anybody else thinks. Yesterday, I just drove my Ford Focus to my spot. It's over an hours drive to my spot and my truck costs me $35 for the round trip but the car is $11. The way I look at it, that's that much more money to spend on other things rather than give it to people who want to kill us and think we're infidels. I've gotten to the point that I only drive the truck up there to hang stands or haul the four wheeler if I need it. If something should happen that I need the truck, I'd call my wife and have her drive it up to me.

    Blessings..........Pastorjim

Not everyone likes to waste money on gas and other stuff that large trucks and SUVs guarantee. But then I know a LOT of guys need to compensate for other "shortcomings" by buying big trucks.

I use whatever Subaru I happen to own at the moment. I have had deer IN previous wagons before I got one w/ a tow hitch.

I always drive my work car to my stands. Granted if I do shoot anything I drive back home and grab the truck and or wheeler. Any time I can save on gas is a wonderful thing.

This is my ride deer hunting. I'm a commercial fisherman in lake huron and when we are anchored out at night I hunt some of the islands.

My 2013-14 Beverly Hillbilly Bow Hunting Rig.

The 4X4 went down and is $$$$ not happening. This 2 wheel drive will have to get where it can, to put boots on the field.
Now play "Don't stop Believing" by Journey... HaHaHahaha!

I hauled my deer on the roof of my Jeep grand Cherokee for the last 5 years. I finally got a truck this year.

I'm not sure I could fit a deer in the focus without damaging it (spilled blood, scuffed plastic...) but it's still newer and I want to keep it in as good of shape as possible.

My hunting rig is my old truck. It's a 2000 F150 with 210k miles. It can hum down the interstate at 80 or fetch a deer from the woods. It can overtake a mini van or run a tree over.
I bought the truck right out of high school and have had it for 10 years or so. I think the rear end is having trouble though so it may be time to get that fixed. The nice this is that it's a 3.55 gear so the mileage is pretty good (16-17 mpg at 75 mph). If you hit 80 it's over, you'll pay though the wallet
