Due to a situation out of my control I have a Hunt planned for this Thursday (which I'm not canceling) and I will not be able to drive my Truck but will however have to take my Wife's 4dr Japanese vehicle.

I told my hunting buddy that I will be meeting at the location for this hunt and he laughed at me, basically said he'd not hunt if he had to drive a car and not his truck.... To me who cares right? After all the trunk is plenty big enough to hold a Doe and in fact a good sized Buck should I get either.

My question is what vehicle have you ever driven other then your Pick-up or large SUV? If ever!!!!!

I've driven a tractor and a combine to my stands before....never a car.

This is public land that I will be hunting on too, that's what my buddy was using as his excuse as to why he wouldn't go (I think he's being stupid IMHO) .... Too me I could care less what anyone thinks... If I had to I would use a motorcycle or bicycle to go hunting lol

Your friend is a moron. I just made a 3800 mile road trip back to IL, mostly to hunt. My total gas cost was $359.00. I drove my prius wagon . My 3/4 ton 4x4 chevy would have made that trip cost over a grand in gas cost. If that car wasn't hampered by low ground clearance and 2wd, I'd use to go after elk and run traps. :)

Stuff for my road trip. (and there was still enough room for me to sleep in the back)

But yes, it is :dan: looking. We call it the Tactical Prius. ;)

Lady Forge stuffs a lot of deer into her 20 year old Honda Civic. She doesn't give a rat's behind what anyone thinks.

Screw what other people think… its your life not theirs. All that matter is if it gets you there and back, and can carry your stuff.

I drive a saturn vue when I go hunting. More than enough room. Just throw down the seats and bring plastic to lay down in the back of the car so no blood gets into the carpet. Might want to get an air freshener if your wife doesn't like the smell of dead animals :p.

Back in the day, before I`d ever owned a truck I hunted out of a car all the time. And if I got a deer, I would either borrow a truck from the ol man or just whip it into the trunk. Don't get me wrong, I have a truck now. But if u need to use a car to go hunting,i don't see what the problem is. And as Christine mentioned, imagine the $$ u will save!

HAHAHAHA. I bet your not the only one that has a picture of that buck crammed into the back of your vehicle. Every car that rolled up behind you on the interstate has one. :tu:

To be honest I prefer to have my own vehicle for hunting. But it has nothing to do with the type of vehicle. After driving back and forth to Nebraska for the last 2 months to hunt I wish I had a vehicle that gets better gas mileage. I am over due for a vehicle upgrade. Will be looking hard at the new Chevy Colorado if its gets as good as gas mileage as they claim it is going to get.

Seems like every time I jump in someone's else vehicle I don't have something I need when I get in the woods. Whether that be toilet paper, Cheetos, or other..... :tu:

Sounds like your buddy cares more about 'looking the part' than killing deer.

I use my wife's honda civic sometimes to drive up to the cabin. I strapped a big doe on top of the trunk one time to take it to town to register. Gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.

If the vehicle matters than he is an idiot. Sorry I lack the ability to craft my words more respectfully at the moment...honesty is best policy right?
