I own 40 acres and have some dandy bucks on trail cam, I live in Wisconsin and the rut is under way, lately I have been seeing fewer deer, none the last two times out. I have someone else who bowhunts with me and we are both crazy about out scent control and play the wind. My question is will increased pressure on an area during rut cause bucks to vacate area or are they just chasing does the next ridge over. It seems I have best luck on the first time I hunt the stand especially after about 4-5 days of not hunting it. Thanks

When the chase is on, tracking specific buck call be tough. The good news is that if you can find the does, someone will be cruising them at some point.

at this point bucks will put caution to the wind to follow a doe, more than likely the does are vacating the area and thats why your not seeing the bucks. Relocate your doe herd and youll see them.. good luck!

I got the same thing going on right now, well at least last weekend. Came home to trail cams full of dandy bucks and fresh sign everywhere. We didn't see squat all weekend. Tough it out, its gotta happen at some point. Funny thing is, we usually have the does!
This weekend 3 guys, 11 total sits and we saw 2 fawns and a doe and heard one grunting buck under 100 yards but never saw him.
Good luck...it only takes 10 seconds to make your season.
