For first bow purchase would it be better to go with a bow that has room to improve. I have been visiting alot of the area proshops and have been shooting a variety of bows. My current problem is I dont have much strength and can't draw more than about 45-50#. I expect that as i start shooting more I will be able to improve and get my DW up. I was at a shop yesterday and found a 50# Hoyt Charger that was set to arounf 45# and it felt great. I didnt get to shoot any arrows with it as it was a bare bow and they wouldnt put anything on it to test, but draw wise it felt better than any of the others. Im trying to find another Hoyt dealer that may have one setup that I can try. My hesitation with it though is that it only has 5-10# that I could grow with. My GF has an infinite edge that I have shot a few times and it seems like a decent bow. Would I be better off going with the infinite edge or a Bowtech Fuel which would give me larger room to grow? Any other suggestions on bows I should try out?

This might seem like a odd question, but how old are you? Are you still growing? If you are still growing getting a bow that can grow with you would make sense. If not then look for something like the charger in a 50-60# range, where you are at the bottom end of it. Just my two cents. Keep looking and have fun.

Check out Mission bows, they are highly adjustable and a great bow.

I'd second this. When I was bow browsing this was recommended to me. I ended up getting one in March - and as long as it doesn't break - it'll be my life bow. They're relatively affordable and allow you to grow.

I ordered my bow saturday afternoon at BKIII archery in Wind Lake WI. I looked at alot of them and had a tough time deciding. In the end it came down to either the Mission Ballistic or the Hoyt Charger. Shooting in the shop I was alot more consistent with the Ballistic but the Charger seemed to draw a little easier (we adjusted both to the same weight). I liked both but thought the Charger looked cooler and has the handle and shox that can be changed out for diffrent colors. I am going black and blue. Thanks for the suggestions and help. I ordered the Charger 55#-65# 28.5 DL, QAD ultra rest HDX in blue, Trophy ridge react 5 pin and 9" static stabalizer. Should all be in and ready to shoot in a few weeks :o
