Guys i need some more help in my quest for my first bow. I may have found a good deal and I need some feedback, here is the add. I have for sale my Matthews Mission X3 Bow. This bow is BRAND NEW. I have shot the bow under ten times and hunted with it twice. I bought it at Christmas to hunt the last week of the season, but decided not to be a bow hunter and rather still hunt with a rifle. The bow is in immaculate condition and is set up ready to go. For those new to bows, you may be thinking the way I was in December. When I saw the price of the bow I was like that’s not to bad I can deal with that but when I went to go to the store to buy the bow and get it fully set up it was WAY more than what the bow cost and WAY more than I thought it was. The bow is just the basic structure then you have to add all on extras to get it set up ready to shoot. Enough about that, here is about the bow: Matthews Mission X3 IBO Rate: 310 FPS Let off: Incredible 75%!!! Axle to Axle Length: 33 in. I also am throwing in my case for the bow which is patted thoroughly and has extra pockets for quiver and releases! Great DEAL! Payed almost $900 ONLY FIVE MONTHS ago! I have extra pics if you want that I can email to you, or you can come take a look at it! **I will also throw in a 3D target!!! Lets say the add is legit, everything is just as it is stated in the above bold text. What would be a good price for all of this? I do not want to tell you guys what we may have agreed on, I want your honest opinion. I have to drive a ways to get this or pay a little more to ship it. I am looking forward to your responses. Thanks for helping a newb out. Scott.
OK, nobody heard of this one or has any experience with it? I would not have thought that at this site, oh well the search continues.
The bow is a great bow, assuming of course it has been taken care of. I bought one for my dad last year and he is just in love with it. I would say anywhere between $400-$450 is a fair price for the lot. They guy has to know that you lose money on bows, one reason why I sell very few of mine. Now for what you don't want to hear. This guy is claiming he shot the bow less than 10 times and still hunted a few weeks with it????? Major red lights going on in my head. I do believe this guy is wanting out of archery, not a big deal, but I would be very concerned with out well this bow was taken care of. It is one thing to buy a used bow off of someone that has been into archery for a while and knows what he or she is doing. It is another thing to buy a used bow off a rookie. Remember, this is a used bow you are purchasing off of an individual, so no warrenty and no pro shop support (since you did not buy the bow there). You may think you are getting a great deal, until the bow blows up and you are left with a tangled mess of strings and no where to turn for help.
The information in bold is all I have, it is his add. Thanks to everyone for thier responses, I appreciate it. I have decided not to purchase this bow, and on a whim decided to go into my local shop, I am glad I did. This shop came highly recomended by some bow hunters that I know. To make a long story short, it was a great experience today and I will be purchasing a brand new bow with a warranty, set up and a lesson ( I am brand new ), all for the same as the used bow. I shot the Mission UX2 today and fell in love with it so I am gong back to buy it in the morning. The bow is a package that the shop owner set up himself, so It is ready to go. Thanks for the help. Scott
Hey Finch, I am located on the very western edge of Powhatan County. I am about an hour west of Richmond, maybe an hour east of Amherst County. Thanks!
You will find that purchasing a bow at a pro shop will be a HUGE help in your learning process. Congrats on the new rig, Mission makes a great hunting bow for sure. Enjoy your new addiction!
