So I am looking to get some advice on mock scrapes. I have read of the great success that can come from them, I'm mainly looking to know if it would be to late to set some up? Also wondering if property layout affects the outcome of mock scrapes? My area to hunt is rather small and to be honest I have no idea what's there I've seen 4 does and only one buck. I have no rubs on any trees but plenty of paths going through the property. Thanks for any help guys.

IMO It's too late to start a mock scrape here in Iowa. You should start them in Early October around here.

You can use some doe estrus on a scent wick if you want to try that, but time for setting up mock scrapes is done for the year.

Agreed, just a little too late to set up mock scrapes. Doing so may drive the deer away.

Seems like you're is a "pass through" woods, Not really that easy to hold deer and get them to visit daily. Pretty much just waiting on one to stroll by. Some doe estrous and buck urine may seal the deal and may get them to start showing your spot some attention.

    Good luck.
