I want to order a topo from mytopo.com and it asks me if I want it waterproof, rolled or folded. What works best for carrying with me if I wish to in the field.
Whats a good size to actually see everything?
    18" x 24"
    24" x 36"
    36" x 48"
And what do I want with all these Tics and Grids? I left it at Tics which it was defaulted to.
And would I want relief shading?? I am in Minnesota so my assumption is no.

I was thinking the 24" x 36" waterproof with the tics and no relief shading. Anyone ordered from this site?

    Thanks in advance.

Ahh great point that I have forgotten. It is defaulted on 1:24,000 but I think I would want 1:15,000 whew I would have forgotten about that. ROOKIE!

I have one of an area I hunt...I guess its considered waterproof as it has a light lamination on it. I like that. Mine is 24x36. I have no idea of all the other stuff you are looking at, I bought it already made years ago, don't know what the specifics were on it. I wish you had the option to zoom in so that the majority of your map is the property want to view. Maybe they do have that now, mine is relatively small on the map compared to the whole thing, but its just a general map of the area that I picked up.

dude dont do it. waste of money. find the map you want on acme mapper, usgs, or even on mytopo when you can preview it. save it to a jump drive and go to Staples. they can print almost any size and laminate for a fraction of the price. let me know if you have any questions

Acme mapper at least for me does not show green for the wooded areas. I have to use mytopo to get exactly what I want for funnels and clearings. Good idea and I may try to do that if my copy comes out. But mytopo it only costs 15 bucks for a med size print. I cant imagine a copy center will do it much less.

The last time i checked I am thinking it was $24 for a decent sized map like the one you are looking for at Staples. I was thinking it would be cheaper, but it looks like it is cheaper through Mytopo?

Gd Luck... I really do not know much about what you are asking? I guess you could PM Gri22ly or wait for him to chime into this thread??

Tell me what area you are looking for and I can probably get you whatever you want. I am a GIS Specialist and have the software to do just about anything. I can laminate it and send it to you in most cases if I can find the data.

I use DeLorme Topo USA. I can edit, save, print as often as I like. I have a bunch of separate maps with all of my waypoints and other markers on them and one map that combines everything. If you like and use topo maps a lot it will be the best money you ever spent on maps.
