I am thinking about jumping on the predator camo bandwagon for this fall. I was just wondering which pattern to use for northern Illinois this fall. I’m torn between fall gray and brown deception.

I would go with the Fall Gray. I live in the south central part of Michigan, and I wear Fall Gray year around.

Ive got brown deception in mostly everything, but either way you go your on the right track. Either pattern will work just fine for your region, Im in central Ohio and this pattern work great here.

    I agree with Ruttin
Been using Predator since I started bowhunting 22 years ago and still have my fall Brown I started out with. I own the winter white and fall grey and to my liking I tend to lean toward the Fall grey. I go Fall brown for the south of our Province in early season for antelope and mulie's. Fall brown for early season Whitetail in Mid Alberta and fall grey for the rest of the season. I trashed my Winter white because of the one piece overalls they were made in. Plus I bought them to big. I've made a few pairs of gaiters out of it.

    If you haven't seen this...

    ... it may be helpful.

    http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/bowhunting/213556-predator-camo-pics-youve-asked-last-two-years.html

I've written ad nauseum about Predator over the years as I may have been one of the first on their "bandwagon"... One of the things I've said about Deception is that it CAN be good -- provided you get a chance to see it and select your garments in person.

Some garments are really true to the open-pattern concept, while others don't fare much better than the old Mossy Oak Breakup, albeit it would be a "brown" backdrop as opposed to a "black" backdrop.

Good luck in whatever you choose.

In my opinion, any of the patterns from Predator will be much, much better than anything you'll get from the "other guys".

I personally use Fall Brown all season and love it. The break up ability of Predator is second to none.

If you're in the market for high end Predator clothing, give Jeff at Gray Wolf Woolens a call. He makes some of the best clothing in the business. I have a 6 year old set of camo from him that still looks like new. And I'm hard on clothing.

Fall Gray is what I wear year-around. Only exception is Spring Green durring the summer when I'm filming from the ground. Word money!

Thanks for the input guys! I think the fall gray is going to work best for me. I hunt alot of field edges that don't give me alot of back cover so I hope the lighter colors will help me blend in better.
