This is stupid but it's bugging me. What do call things in your house that are sort of a focal point for discussion? I know there's a name for such things. We have a friend coming over and so I dragged the Lapua into the living room. I told my husband that I thought Will might want to see it and it's not like we have any normal.. Focal.. Points.. Of.. Interest. Then he tried to think of what you might call such objects when used for 'decorating' and drew a blank. It is right on the tip of my tongue...
