I'm going in tomorrow to get a ground blind setup. I do not plan on hunting this spot until the early part of November. The last 2 years I have been able to see bucks chasing does through this clearing from another stand about 175 yards away. The area is an old hay field that just has a few small trees growing in it. It backs up against a bedding area to the northwest and another to the southeast. The only trees even big enough to get a stand into do not offer near enough cover for my liking. So I'm breaking out my turkey blind. I have killed deer from "natural" blinds while bowhunting, but have never used one of these popups for anything other than turkey hunting. Any tricks to the trade that might come in handy? I plan on tying some more natural looking brush to it, but I also don't want to over do it.
