I have always tried to avoid walking on deer trails to get to my stand and I NEVER walk on deer trails that are in front of my stand location, so my question for those of you that use scents do you purposely walk the trails that lead to your stand and those that are in front of your stand? I'm having a hard time with this because I feel that the deer would smell where you walked pretty much negating the use of the scent. The other option is to head to my stand like normal then just placing the scent down in front of my shooting lanes. What do you do?I was thinking of using deer dander and when it gets closer to the rut using an estrous scent. I've done well without ever using them but I think I want to try something different this year.
