My qad HD/LD rest does not go all the way down and lay flush on the shelf when shot...it hangs up a little when shot...is this normal?

When set right, vertical in launch position it's supposed to rotate a full 90deg to horizontal when shot. It will rest in the contain position tilted foreward a bit when cocked or let down. There is a mark on the thumb wheel that should line up with a mark on the barrel when in the launch position. You can check timeing by pulling string down and see if marks line up. Also make sure string is pulling it to launch at full draw. Mine is set to drop to horizontal but not hit the shelf when fired.

The timing seems right, it drops, just not all way down, there is a hang up it seems just before it hits the shelf maybe 1/8 of an inch or more..

Sounds like it's normal. That's where the LD mechanism starts to grab hold.

I called and they said it wasn't supposed to hang up like that...said something about the brake may be wrong for that rest or the adjustment is off...I will send it back and they will fix it..

It seems the brake inside is too sensative or something...Or the what I think is the brake is working and it's catching after the forks slap down and catches it on it's way back up...I called and I will send it back...does anyone on herer shoot the QAD HD? tell me if you fork lays flat after shot.

Rob, I think mine is like yours...just a slight incline almost like the brake caught it on it's way back up from slapping the shelf...guy told me it should lay flat so I sent it back...Im not even sure it was interfering with my fletchings or anything, but hell, it's the off season for me and I got to get new strings and cables and sight anyway, so why not have it checked out you know?

    I've two of 'em.

Both lay pretty flat. Neither touches the shelf.... but almost.
