I’ll be honest I know very little about bows, but my fiancé has an old Diamond now that was passed down from his Dad and it means a lot to him. He can’t find the exact year but he knows it’s a Rapture, sometime after 1994 and before 2005. We know that much because he had difficulty getting it restrung so he could use it, we couldn’t find a place around us that even knew the specs and ended up having to call Diamond only to find out they had been bought in 2005 and according to them didn’t have any information before then. He finally got someone to restring it, but the first time he used it the cam broke and he’s devastated because the place he took it to said it would be impossible to find a new cam for a bow this old. I’m hoping that maybe someone could point me in the right direction to possibly find one in hopes that the bow shop was wrong. Or, I would even be willing to buy a bow just for the cam if I could find one, I’m just not having much luck. This bow is sentimental to him and it would mean the world to him if we could figure out how to fix it. Ive attached pictures of the bow and the cam and really appreciate any help you can offer. My hope is to have it fixed for him for Christmas (or at least find a way to fix it) as he’s pretty much given up
I can steer you in two different directions. You can call Bowtech, they were the ones who manufactured that brand for a while and they may have some answers for you. Or you can go on the archerytalk classifieds and look under vintage bows. That's a long shot but you never know. Good luck! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Thanks so much! We already called Bowtech, they said they don’t manufacture those parts anymore and couldn’t even give us the specs for this particular bow. Both reps we talked to basically said anything before 2005 they didn’t keep documentation on and don’t produce parts for :/ I’ll definitely check the classifieds!
There is also a section there for "Want to buy." Thats another long shot but you never know who's got that kind of stuff laying around just collecting dust. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
One other thing I would say to you. If the person who restrung that bow without knowing the specs, did something wrong, causing that cam to break, there could be other damage as well, such as cracked limb or something. I know the bow may have alot of sentimental value but it wouldn't be worth it to possibly get injured. I'm sure your boyfriend's father would not want that to happen either. Again, good luck!
