I want to start filming my hunts but I cannot afford a new camera. I currently have a sony hdr cxr130 that has good hd quality. Wide angle, 42x optical. It does take good video, the only problem is. It has no mic input. And I highly doubt the audio quality of the stock mic will be of any value. My question is, how bad do you think it will be? My plan was to have a friend sit just above me in the tree and film for me with the use of a tree arm or tri-pod but will he even be able to pick up my whispers?
BTW, buying a new camera is 100% out of the question. I have a daughter and another one on the way and money is tight. very tight. So no matter what, I have to make due
you answered your own question, use it and view it. It might not be the best, but it will record the memories. Good Luck
Youre right, I did sorta answer my own question. Just sucks looking at awesome video edits and they are getting amazing sound from quite a distance.
We use a handy cam, and we do alright. Of course we just film cause its fun, not for anything serious. We don't even know how to take the footage off the camera and onto the computer
I dont think it would be that bad. You wont be able to hear the leaves as something is walking in like you would be able to with a shotgun mic or anything but it might pick up some stuff. Some of the closer sounds im sure. Perfect for what you wanna do it sounds like. have fun and dont get too addicted to it
