Alright guys, I'm hunting a field that is planted to corn this year. It runs along a river and I can pretty much hunt 1 side of the field. One stand is on the edge of the field and the other is back in the timber. I was debating putting a feeder out when they get the corn out. What do you think? Put it out or keep it in the garage? And if I should put it out, should I just put corn in it?

It depends on if there will be any other food sources for the deer after the corn is gone ie. soybeans, acorns. If there isn't any other food to attract the deer i would put it out. In my experiance my feeder only attracted does during shooting hours though. Maybe it was just the location idk what the deal was. I basically bought a lot of corn to feed does. The bucks showed up on cam during the night only. Good luck!!

There are soybeans to the north and south of me, right next to my field. One stand is about 40-50 yards from the edge of the beans, and the other is 60-80 yards through the timber. I'm sure there will be acorns as most of the trees along the river are huge oaks.

Sounds like there is plenty of food for them. I wouldn't waste money on feed until all the natural food is gone. Set it up in the late season when there isn't any other food and they should slam it. :nana:

Good idea. Maybe I'll throw it out about the time they take the beans out. It seems like that's when I stopped seeing deer movement last year, although the whole season was messed up. Should I put it on the edge of the field or back in the timber along a trail?
