My older brother wants to get into bow hunting again after several yrs off..he is short like me and only has 26' or 26.5 " draw...I was looking at the new Razor edge by Diamond bow package...it is in the 500$ price range he has, but is he .....well, too old for that bow?? I mean it says for those who want to grow into bow hunting..what other packages would yall recommend??
I would not suggest the Razor Edge for an adult. The Diamond Rock package is in his price range though (right at $500). This would be a much better choice for him IMO. You could always test the used bow market as well.
The Razor Edge is a good bow and I just bought the wife one. BUT, she has a 23 1/2" draw and it's just damn tough to find a bow w/ a draw that short that isn't a youth model. I wouldn't recommend that for an adult either, it's an awfully small bow. The used bow market would be a terrific way to go right now. Lots of guys are trading in their '07's and 8's for the '09 models. Though I will admit his draw isn't an incredibly common length so finding a used bow may be a bit of a challenge.
this is very helpful guys...yeh we both have the short draw so we always end up buying new, oh well, it's what we do..
Real good suggestion.....------>FIND A NICE USED BOWTECH EQUALIZER. The bow was made for you poor SOBs with the stubby arms. Ya know I love ya Landon, but I gots to take my shots when I can. Seriously, check one out.
The Hoyt Alphamax should cover that range. I know one set of Cams maxes ouit at 27.5" So I'm sure it probably goes down a good 2 inches
There are some smokin deals on the AT classifieds these days. You might consider looking there for a used bow from a seller with good feedback.
Just found a brand new LH General over on AT for 500. http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=898358 and a Black Ice. http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=898358
