I don't see many mentions of the Quest line of bows here. I've been eyeing a G5 "Drive" and am planning on shooting one soon (they need to set up a lefty for me).

I'm looking for the most bang for my buck, not really interested in paying for a name unless it's worth it.

What do you know about Quest G5's?

I shot a rev for a while and really liked it. The let off was super scary though when set at the high setting. I actually thought I messed up my bow the first time I went to let down. Good shooter though.

They are very smooth bows with great back walls

Quests are the best bow for the price. I bought a G5 Rogue 2 seasons ago and love it. It's by far the best bow I've ever owned. I pull 60 lbs and every deer I've shot with it has been a pass through. Shoot one you'll fall in love like I did. quest_2012_rogue_pkg.jpg

they're history was a strother startup right, with ross, then some weird money thing happened, and g5 ended with the rights/patents?

i think that's right. maybe i'm not remembering.

anyhow, i've liked their bows. i personally think that they're similar to many other strother-esque bows out there. i have shot the new ones to see if they've gone in different directions.

G5 was originally manufacturing the Ross bows. When Ross went under, the owner Andy Ross sold the company to Blowtech. Unfortunately, G5 still owned the manufacturing rights. After a court decision G5 was awarded with the full rights of production and Blowtech dropped the company. And everyone lived happily ever after.

Shot 3 bows today. The Hoyt Faktor 30, the Bowtech Experience and the G5 Drive. All nice bows! This is gonna be tough! I think I would rank them so far as the G5 on top and the Hoyt a very, very close second. It's tough when you're a lefty, very limited selection.

The Quest Drive is one of best bows available. Can't go wrong at all. Stable on the shot, VERY well built, smooth draw and fast.

I have shot the rouge now for the last 2 years. Nothing but praise for it by me..

Hard to beat the price for the quality you get out of the G5's

Shot the Rogue for 2 seasons as well....I agree, great bow. Here's my drive.

I have found that for the 1st time, I no longer require a stabilizer, even with a quiver. It's as silent as it gets. And is very forgiving. I'm dealing with left side parkinsons (bow arm), and as a result wanted a smooth and forgiving bow. I knew I needed to drop weight, and wanted a bit more speed as well. I'm at 27 1/2" @ 55lbs, and this thing shoots spot on and dead-in-hand. With a 390gr arrow, I'm sighted in with a single pin Copper John at just under the top of a 4" bull for 20yds, and still cutting the bottom of the 4" bull at 30yds. Can't ask for more than that out of a 7" brace-height bow.
