As some of you know I hunt a large military base of about 45,000 acres. I called today to see if they were open to sell me my yearly pass. The lady on the phone told me that they are doing BACKGROUND checks on everyone that wants to hunt on the military base this year based on base realignment personnel increases and other security reasons. That is going to turn a lot of people away from hunting that base. I predict in 2-3 years the quality of the bucks will improve substantially. Bring it!

Do you guys hunt public land because you dont have private land to hunt or do you just want another place to hunt. I have 2 areas of public land by me to hunt but just kind of blew it of cause of the amount of dumb people. Its either that or walk an hour or 2 deep into the woods problem with that is scaring all the deer. Your thoughts

Josh, we will meet half way and hunt buddy! Or I will come your way---hahahaha! By the way, I am not for background checks on public land, but I understand why they are going to do it where I hunt. It houses the FBI, DEA, and Marine Corps.

Bowanna...I hunt it because I do not have private land (other than a .2 acre strip of woods behind my house).
