For sleeping bags, Jen and I have the Marmot Never Summer 0 bags. I believe it weighs like 3lbs 14oz for the XL model that I have. I got the XLong model so that I can put clothes in the bottom to keep the warm for the morning. I've been in this bag a 0 wearing long johns and a beanie and never even got chilled. We also have the BA X-static pads and really like them. I'm sure there are better ones, but if you're only using it a couple of times per year... chances are that it will dry rot before you wear it out. I use my wife as the control group, if she can stay warm and comfy at 20 degrees, I know I'm good to at least -20 :D
i use them foam pads and very cheap always works well. REI has good sleeping bags and good prices. Marmot Limelight tent best tent i have used light and it has a full rain fly that covers whole tent with a small walk in area i always put my backpack and boots in that area. Gregory backpack they have the best hip straps and anti slip stuff so it don't side around on back..
