It is all about the $, like I have said food plots are great but with out the $ QDMA could be called antler restrictions and would produce the same results.

See I think that is off base too. QDMA and QDM is way more than just food plots and let the young ones grow. I'm too lazy to look it up but they do get messages out about deer education, hunter recruitment (as Tacklebox showed), habitat improvement, heard monitoring, and lobbying politically for all things good for whitetails.

The problem is corporate got too big and powerful where they lost sight of the real mission of what QDMA was supposed to be about.

    Its a non-profit being run as a for-profit business.

As soon as I heard about QDMA banquets I knew it was not for me. Deer do not need food plots or minerals or artificial habitat enhancements, we as all hunters do it to keep and hold deer where we want them. Any results are not measurable, antler growth from one year to the next, the single biggest factor is making it to the next year closer to maturity, antler restrictions are the cheapest most effective way to achieve that.

What's wrong with banquets? Getting like minded people together is what wrote the Constitution ya know!! :poke: I'm the epitome of anti-social, I can't stand probably 95% of human kind, but a banquet to talk to fellow hunters, share stories, food, and good drink is never a bad thing in my book.

Indication of a desire for more and more revenue, you have to make the kool-aide, before they can drink it.

Meh. Banquets are ok. When they charge $750 bucks to take their class for deer stewardship. Now cmon. All their magazine is about now is good pictures (ok fine) and shaking the tin for more money for example giving in your will when you die. Stuff like that. Its all fundraising.

Sota I don't think antler restrictions are the way to go. Limiting people to what they can or can't shoot is just wrong in my opinion. QDMA groups gave the chance for like minded people to manage their properties how they wanted to with great success without having to pass regulations. Does that mean your against all wildlife organizations? They all have banquets to fundraise

I prefer grass roots organizations vs something that morphs into an organization with fundraising to provide revenue for bulging administrative costs that are not accounted for. Smaller is better.

I agree mostly. Like what TJ was doing but just on a local level without the huge corporate black hole.

So far I have converted the Rye vs Wheat, Brassicas, Hinge cutting, Tree Planting, and Corn/Soybeans/Milo. This afternoon I should be able to get the last 4

It could just mean they don't want to sell it for any price. Not that the person couldn't afford it.

Allow me to break out my Jump To Conclusions Mat.

They'll keep it and reformat their site so that only paid members have access to it. They know how valued that data is along with the rest of the forum. They're just intentionally creating a vacuum to increase demand for it to encourage old users to buy a new membership. There was what 15K members, probably 2/3rds never did join, if even 3000 are encouraged to buy a new membership they make a lot of money they otherwise were not getting.

I don't think hardly anyone would complain if they made all that info available but you had to pay for it. They want that info inaccessible.
